Warburton Music Interns

With major support from the Trustees of the Warburton Chapel, up to four Warburton Music Intern stipends are awarded to students who attend Hartford-area colleges for the purpose of singing in the Center Church Choir during the semesters of the typical collegiate academic year. 

The Center Church Choir is pleased to welcome three University of Connecticut Students for our 2024-2025 program year: Micaela “Mica” Guzman, Sabrina Russotto, and Ian Duncan. Mr. Stewart Battle is returning to Center Church as our Baritone section leader and soloist.

Mica is a junior, from Bristol, CT, majoring in Music Education. Sabrina is also a junior, from Glastonbury, CT, majoring in Music and Psychology. Ian, also from Glastonbury, CT, is a freshman, majoring in Vocal Performance.

You can hear all four of our musicians singing alongside the Center Church Choir and occasionally showcasing their diverse talents on Sunday Mornings, from September to June.

We look to have, ideally, one intern in each of the choir’s four sections (soprano, alto, tenor, and bass). Interested college students need not be music majors to apply. Rather, they need to have choral or instrumental ensemble experience, the ability to read music, and a willingness to work with and learn from professional and volunteer singers.

The Warburton Music Interns are expected to participate in the weekly choral rehearsal and Sunday morning service, as well as special services, community outreach activities (i.e., caroling at Community Meals) and concerts that are announced at the beginning of the academic year. Interns also are welcome to share other gifts with and participate in the broader life of Center Church.
